Just east of the Rockville city line, 100 men slept through
their January nights sprawled on the linoleum floors of three
metal trailers. However, by the time those key nights return
next winter, county officials say those homeless men will
be able to stay at a new, permanent shelter that may serve
as many as 500 men each year

A 100-bed homeless shelter is being built in Rockville and
is expected to open later this year before winter. When completed,
the Mens Emergency Shelter on East Gude Drive will replace
a set of old trailers that homeless advocates described as
woefully inadequate

Builder's Care Foundation Moves Forward With Community Projects
MNCBIA's NewsUpdate
Two significant community projects are currently in process
under the auspices of the MNCBIA Home Builders Care Foundation,
one in Charles County and the other in Montgomery County.
The Charles County project is Camp Merrick, an existing summer
camp for children who are deaf or hearing impaired
A 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Community Outreach
Program affiliated with the Maryland
National-Capital Building Industry Association.
We are pledged to the letter and spirit
of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity
throughout the Nation. We encourage and support an affirmative
advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers
to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex,
handicap, familial status, or national origin.
