Request project assistance.

If your nonprofit shelters vulnerable Marylanders and has a construction need, HBCF may be able to help. We partner with established nonprofits to build and renovate shelters and supportive housing across Maryland and Washington DC.

Before you apply

Who we can help

HBCF focuses on projects and project-related costs for nonprofit partners, not direct assistance to individuals.

We can help if you...

  • Are an established nonprofit organization
  • Own a facility in our service area
  • Serve Maryland or Washington DC
  • Have a shelter or supportive-housing construction need

What we don't do

  • Assist individuals directly
  • Provide housing placements
  • Offer direct financial aid to people
  • Fund costs unrelated to a construction project
