For adults with cognitive disabilities · Prince George's County, MD

Calmra

Two cramped bathrooms became one fully accessible space, so three women with severe disabilities and their live-in caregivers could manage daily life with safety and dignity.

About the project

One accessible bathroom, everything changed

Home Builders Care completed a bathroom renovation at a CALMRA residential facility in Prince George's County. Originally planned for March 2020, the project was delayed by COVID-19 and carried out from November into early December 2020.

The home is shared by three severely disabled women who require 24-hour assistance with every living activity, along with their live-in, trained caregivers. The team consolidated two separate bathrooms into a single, fully accessible space designed around their needs.
