Investment Tax Credits
Cut your Maryland tax bill and do more good with the same gift. Qualified donations to HBCF can earn a state tax credit worth half your contribution, on top of your usual charitable deductions.
Credits are available now for 2026, but they're limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Balances change as gifts come in, so please email us to confirm the current balance before you give.
How it works
One gift, three ways to win
The Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program lets individuals and businesses reduce their Maryland tax liability, support a local nonprofit, and decide exactly where their charitable dollars go, all at once.
Make a qualified contribution of $500 or more to HBCF's Shelter-Related Construction Assistance Program, and you may receive a Maryland tax credit equal to half the value of your donation. That credit is in addition to any federal and state charitable deductions you already claim.
